                Biography of Sachin Tendulkar


        Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is a former Indian cricketer widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. He was born on April 24, 1973 in Mumbai, India.

        Tendulkar began playing cricket at the age of 11 and made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 1989 as a 16-year-old. Over the course of his 24-year career, he established himself as one of the most successful batsmen in the world, setting numerous records in the process.

        Tendulkar played in a record 200 Test matches, scoring 15,921 runs with an average of 53.78. He also played in 463 One Day Internationals (ODIs), scoring 18,426 runs with an average of 44.83. He holds the record for the most runs scored in international cricket and the most centuries in both Tests and ODIs.

        Some of his notable achievements include being the first player to score 100 international centuries, the first player to score a double century in ODIs, and the only player to have scored over 30,000 runs in international cricket.

        Tendulkar was also a part of the Indian team that won the 2011 Cricket World Cup, ending a 28-year drought for India. He was also awarded the prestigious Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 2014.

        After his retirement from international cricket in 2013, Tendulkar has remained involved in the sport as a mentor and commentator. He was also elected to the upper house of the Indian Parliament in 2012, becoming the first active cricketer to be nominated as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
